I didn’t start with a perfect plan. I started with four young children, less than $10,000 in the bank, no steady income, and the determination to build a life where I could support my family and still be there for my children.
In 2007, while I was going through my divorce, the real estate market was beginning to fall apart. At the same time my personal life was changing, we lost our family home to foreclosure.
I knew firsthand what it felt like to watch the life you had built change almost overnight. I understood the fear, uncertainty, and embarrassment homeowners could feel when they could no longer afford the home they thought they would have for years.
Instead of letting that experience define what came next, I decided I wanted to understand real estate and use what I learned to help other people facing the same situation.
I became a Certified Short Sale Specialist and built a real estate team focused on helping distressed homeowners. Together, we helped hundreds of people navigate short sales, communicate and negotiate with their lenders, avoid foreclosure when possible, and find a path forward so they could close one chapter and begin again.
That period shaped the way I see real estate to this day. Behind every property is a person, a family, a financial decision, and often a much bigger life story.
Over the years, my career grew far beyond distressed properties. I worked with first-time buyers, sellers, investors, flippers, luxury clients, and homeowners at nearly every stage of life. I began investing myself, managing rental properties, renovating and flipping homes, and learning how to recognize potential where others might not see it.
I experienced success—but I also made mistakes.
I learned how quickly debt can grow, how unpredictable commission income can be, how an investment can cost more than expected, and how easy it is to make decisions based on the money you think is coming instead of the money you actually have.
Eventually, I realized that earning more money wasn't enough. I needed systems that helped me understand what was happening with the money I already had.
So I began building simple systems to track my income, expenses, debt, investments, cash flow, properties, and goals. I wanted to see my numbers clearly, understand my choices, and make decisions based on facts instead of fear.
Those systems changed the way I approached my finances and my investments—and eventually became the foundation for Freedom Path Fin: Financial Independence Now.
The courses, trackers, and tools I share here weren't created from theory. They came from real life: rebuilding, raising four children, selling homes, helping families through financial hardship, investing, renovating properties, making mistakes, learning from them, and continuing to move forward.
I created Freedom Path Fin to take what took me years to learn and make it easier for someone else to understand and use. My systems are designed to help you see your numbers, organize your goals, evaluate opportunities, track your progress, and make more informed decisions about your money and real estate.
I believe financial independence isn't about having a perfect life. It's about understanding where you are, knowing where you want to go, and having a system to help you get there.
Today, I'm a real estate associate broker with The Agency, an investor, designer, mother of four, and founder of Freedom Path Fin.
Real estate helped me rebuild my life and create more choice, flexibility, and freedom. Now I'm sharing the systems and lessons I learned along the way with people who want to create more of that freedom for themselves.
